Weyprint is committed to minimising the impact of its operations on the environment. We conform to all current environmental legislation and we endeavour to find new ways to reduce our energy usage and waste. We wholly endorse the ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ ethos. Recycling

Waste and recycling

We stock a large selection of different papers, all of which are sourced from sustainable forests, and most have an element of recycled wood or fibre
100% Recycled papers can be ordered in on request
Any good quality blank paper collected from the end of print runs is cut, recycled in-house, and resold as scrap pads
90% of our waste is paper and cardboard, and is collected for recycling when it cannot be reused
Suppliers’ boxes are reused where possible for dispatching our products. ‘Broken box’ cardboard is used for packaging either by ourselves or by other local companies
Other waste, including staff food packaging, such as PET plastics, cans, and glass is separated and recycled
Empty inkjet printer cartridges and laser toner cartridges are recycled
Scrap metal is recycled through local scrap metal merchants
Digital proofing is used where possible, to minimise the number of printed proofs
By using digital printers we minimize waste due setup procedures and by minimizing ‘overs’
We work with our clients to minimize run length commensurate with client need

Energy Policy

Our energy output is constantly monitored and all non-essential machines are turned off or set to standby when not required
Our lighting systems use energy-efficient bulbs
Primary and secondary double glazing is fitted where possible
All of our digital printers have a ‘power save' function to minimize energy usage
Heating and cooling systems are carefully monitored and building areas infrequently used having a ‘reduced heating’ policy

Pollution

All of our machines are digital, and use no water or solvents which may pollute the water supply
Some of our staff live locally so are able to walk to work; others use public transport where possible
We have a programme of replacing older machinery and equipment with modern, environmentally friendly processes where possible, to minimise environmental impact
We use suppliers and couriers who have excellent ethical and environmental policies
We share company vehicles and local delivery means with other like minded businesses
We avoid traffic congestion where possible by carefully planning delivery routes and times

Health and Safety

Weyprint is committed to providing a healthy and safe environment in which to work. We have an excellent training programme, as well as all the appropriate accident records and risk assessment procedures. Health and Safety procedures are monitored and updated as required by legislation through a contracted company (Peninsula Business Services)
